Designer, MA in textile design 2006
Anu Saari |
| Anu Saari (b. 1977) graduated from from the University of Industrial Arts Helsinki in 2006 with an MA in textile design. She has designed several successful products for Finnish as well as foreign textile and paper companies. Since the beginning of the year 2007, Saari has worked as the head designer of the traditional linen company Jokipiin Pellava.
Anu Saari states the following about her collaboration with Jokipiin Pellava “My greatest challenge is to be able to approach a traditional material such as linen, without any preconceptions. In doing this I will hopefully be able to design modern products, that can also possess a dash of humour, but at the same time respect the value and qualities of linen.”
The co-operation with Jokipii was launched with the stylish and straightforward product series Liituraita, to be followed right after with Keittiö- ja Teehetki- tee-towels. |

Jukka Rintala made his first designs for interior decoration a few years ago, in connection with a project for the Central Ostrobothnia Polytechnic. It was linen, so luxurious and fashionable in interior
decoration right now, which connected him with three Finnish interior textile manufacturers – Jokipiin Pellava, Lennol and VM-Carpet.
The strong brushwork of the artist gave the products of these enterprises distinguished, modern forms and colours. His interior textiles in carpets, bed cloths and bath textiles can be regarded as works of art within interior decoration.
In our collection Rintala design consists of linen terry towels (Art Deco, Saimaa, Kevät, Lehti, Linjat) and table linen (Art Deco, Saimaa, Ritarinkukka, Nuppu). |
